Riding Beside Her Sisters

Through our Freedom Wheels Program, children are given the opportunity to experience the simple joy of riding a bike in a way that suits their individual needs. For many families, this moment represents more than just learning a skill—it’s about inclusion, independence, and sharing everyday experiences with siblings and friends.

One mother shared her heartfelt appreciation for how TADQ’s work made it possible for her young daughter to enjoy the freedom of riding alongside her siblings.

She shares:

“A bike ride *with* her twin sister and older sister. Mum who is helping guide her own choices from behind instead of strapping her into a stroller to try pushing those small wheels fast enough to keep up.

Instead, her support team of Red Tail Therapy, NDIS and TADQ; has meant she has her own wheels, big enough to keep up for years. A racing trike that has been looked over by her neighbourhood friends and approved with “Wow! That is so cool!”

Acceptance of her.
Understanding her ways.
Sharing play spaces with her.
Including her as a part of them.

That’s what this bike has done for her, and because of the flexibility of it, it can grow with her for years.”

TADQ is deeply honoured to have been part of her journey, helping her daughter share in the freedom and joy of independent riding!
